  Arboretum, excellent rec. center, very modern academic facilities, diverse selection of foreign languages and a beautiful campus.

  Cons

  Limited choice of majors, but great programs which can earn you a place in the best graduate programs in the world.

  Strong academic background and it attracts a diverse, intelligent student base.

  Cons

  Northfield is a small town -- though only 45 minutes from Minneapolis.

  Comments

  If you're seeking small class size and top-rank teaching, Carleton's the place to be. Only Oberlin compares in the midwest.
